Spam King off the streets

Maybe it’s just a coincidence, maybe it’s “Bad Behavior” doing a better job lately. I don’t know, but there’s been a huge decline in comment spam filtered out by Akismet lately, and then I read this… damned good news.

‘Spam King’ Arrested and Charged – News and Analysis by PC Magazine

A top spammer known as “the Spam King” has been arrested after years of investigations.

According to news reports and anti-spam organizations, Robert Alan Soloway, which appeared on the spamhaus.org list of top spammers, was indicted by a grand jury in Seattle on charges of fraud, money laundering, and identity theft. Soloway is accused of violating the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, among others.

Dear Gov. Dean:

I pull your emails from the trash bin and wipe them off long enough to read each one. Generally they’re simply boring, but once in awhile you say something that makes me go “hmmm”.

Here’s one from today’s missive:

Americans want action, and that’s what Democrats are delivering. House Democrats Adam Schiff and Artur Davis introduced a resolution yesterday calling for Gonzales’ removal, stating that he failed to “assure the public that the laws of the nation are being enforced in an independent, nonpartisan and judicious manner.”

You’re absolutely correct… We want action. Positive action, not your party’s angry little wheel-spinning, negative-energy, hate-mongering, spiteful behavior.

I’ll grant you that the Republicans haven’t done much better. I’ll grant you that We the people voted to change things on the political spectrum, to include giving your party another chance at making things better. So why do you insist on business as usual?

The question is rhetorical. You won’t change because you’re a lying parasite, just like the vast majority of your peers, regardless of which party they represent. When you get power, you use it to strike out at those formerly in power. When you lose power, you piss and moan because those now in power are striking out at you. You accomplish nothing that matters; you work only to work to maintain and increase your power base.

Your time will pass, but I’m afraid that by the time the collective majority manages it, you’ll have caused irreparable damage. I hope I’m wrong.

Demoralizing the self-righteous…

…one tree at a time:

The reason we sell Carbon Debits is simple – we want to take away the pathetic excuse of Carbon Credits from those liberals who hide their shame filled lives behind money-bought lunacy. Carbon Credits are simply a way for the rich (Al Gore) to continue to hypocritically live lives that look nothing like what they try to enforce on everyone else in society. We want to take away those excuses.

Our goal is to completely wipe out every Carbon Credit ever bought by selling their nullifying opposite – the Carbon Debit. The guilt and shame that caused people to buy Carbon Credits in the first place will be placed back on them as we let them know that their actions caused us to nullify their credits. They are the cause of us killing trees; they need to face up to their guilt.

This message is important for one reason – Far Left Liberals are lunatics that operate solely on shame of themselves, their success, their country, and their wealth. It is time to expose their ideas and self-defeating idiocy – and selling Carbon Debits is the best way to do that.

Here’s your global warming “expert”

Shut up and act, Leo.

Humans face extinction claims star

Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio sent out a message about global warming at the Cannes Film Festival.

The heartthrob has made a film, the 11th Hour, warning that human beings face extinction as a result of the environmental crisis.

At a press conference in the South of France following the screening, The Blood Diamond actor, 32, attacked US President George Bush, saying: “It’s very simple. He’s done very little for the environmental movement.” (maybe because he’s not part of your ‘movement’, asswipe -Jonathan)

The Titanic star’s latest film, which he narrates, follows another environmental warming documentary by former US Presidential candidate Al Gore, shown at the Cannes Film Festival last year.

Your success at pretending to be people that matter does not make you a person that matters. Your opinion is no more important (or correct) than anyone else’s — you just get to abuse your fame by foisting your views on the global stage when all we really want is to see you pretend well.

Pretend, stop being pretentious.

One Hundred and Eighty Degrees of Stupidity

In the 70’s, it was proposed that to fight off global COOLING, we should COVER THE POLES WITH SOOT to absorb heat from the sun.

On TV right now, in a proposal to fight global WARMING, they are suggesting we should CUT DOWN THE TREES in northern climes to reflect more of the sun’s heat.

I am awestruck at the utter fucking stupidity of the media (and the scientists on their payrolls) and the people who suck up every drop of this nonsense.

Simply awestruck.

Interesting Spam-filter behavior

I swear I had nothing to do with it…

I use Thunderbird for all of my email services, and it does a fantastic job of pre-filtering spam from my in-box. I also subscribe to a number of newsletters, including both the Democratic and Republican parties’ official newsletters. Those I get from the Republicans get shuffled into the folder I have set up for that purpose without a hitch… but those from the Democrats? They all get marked as SPAM and moved to my Junk folder in preparation for automatic deletion.

I didn’t set it up that way.

Really.

It’s funny and oh-so-appropriate, though.

(I do move them out of there and read them though… after all, I did subscribe.)

An Inconvenient… OOPS

Climate Momentum Shifting: Prominent Scientists Reverse Belief in Man-made Global Warming – Now Skeptics

Following the U.S. Senate’s vote today on a global warming measure (see today’s AP article: Senate Defeats Climate Change Measure,) it is an opportune time to examine the recent and quite remarkable momentum shift taking place in climate science. Many former believers in catastrophic man-made global warming have recently reversed themselves and are now climate skeptics. The names included below are just a sampling of the prominent scientists who have spoken out recently to oppose former Vice President Al Gore, the United Nations, and the media driven “consensus” on man-made global warming.

How much longer will we have to bear the burden of the bad science that pushed Al Gore into everyone’s field of view? When will the congressional hearings convene to expose Al and his scams as the criminal acts they are? Can I sign up for the class-action lawsuit to recoup the stolen tax dollars being spent on things like carbon offsets?

Free Credit Report (no, really!)

You’ve seen the commercials… “sign up for our service and get your free credit report now!”

You’ve probably also heard that the three major credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) are required by the Federal Trade Commission to provide you a copy of your report every year, for free.

Do you know that the commercials mentioned above are a fraudulent (in my opinion, don’t send the lawyers, I’m entitled to my opinion) attempt to get you to PAY for what they* are required to give you for FREE? Sure, they justify it by providing your “magic number” (credit score) as well as the report… but that’s a generally nonsensical reason to give up your hard earned money, unless you happen to be planning the purchase of a new home. Most of us just need to keep an eye on our credit reports – to protect ourselves against ID theft, fraud, and the stupid mistakes creditors are known to make.

The pay services do allow you access to your report any time you like… but again, how many of us want or need to see our report every day, week, or month? Every few months seems to be fine – and the free reports as mandated by the FTC will provide just that, as long as you apply a modicum of self-discipline.

FTC Facts For Consumers regarding free credit reports.
ANNUALCREDITREPORT.COM — The ONLY real site for free credit reports.

A Warning About “Imposter” Websites

Only one website is authorized to fill orders for the free annual credit report you are entitled to under law – annualcreditreport.com. Other websites that claim to offer “free credit reports,” “free credit scores,” or “free credit monitoring” are not part of the legally mandated free annual credit report program. In some cases, the “free” product comes with strings attached. For example, some sites sign you up for a supposedly “free” service that converts to one you have to pay for after a trial period. If you don’t cancel during the trial period, you may be unwittingly agreeing to let the company start charging fees to your credit card.

Some “imposter” sites use terms like “free report” in their names; others have URLs that purposely misspell annualcreditreport.com in the hope that you will mistype the name of the official site. Some of these “imposter” sites direct you to other sites that try to sell you something or collect your personal information.

annualcreditreport.com and the nationwide consumer reporting companies will not send you an email asking for your personal information. If you get an email, see a pop-up ad, or get a phone call from someone claiming to be from annualcreditreport.com or any of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies, do not reply or click on any link in the message. It’s probably a scam. Forward any such email to the FTC at spam@uce.gov.

Here’s what I do:

I have a reminder through my email client that appears once every four months. Three times a year, I remind myself to pull a single credit report, moving sequentially through the three services. I resist the temptation to subscribe to any of the little pop-up offers on the way to the free report, and I save a copy of the report to a secure storage device each time. Some of them refuse to provide a report that can be downloaded (print only), however PDFCreator or a similar program deals with that nicely.

Unless you’re a victim of identity theft, or have some serious credit problems that require a higher level of monitoring, you probably don’t need to waste your money on “services” that provide nothing of value. Take advantage of the free reports the monitoring services are required by law to provide.

*note: “They” may be the credit reporting services, third parties in collusion with said services, or simply third parties out to make a buck by misleading the consumer… I have no idea, and frankly I don’t care.

edit: I had thought to provide links to the fake “free” credit report sites… but they don’t need the little bit of traffic this site would provide… they’re already all over the television, radio, and internet. Which makes it all the more apparent that people need to be told there’s a real way to get your reports for free.

Join the fight – Report Panda Software SPAM to the FTC!

I have officially changed my message filters to not only automatically mark all email from Panda Software as spam, but also to forward it to SPAM@UCE.GOV.

Panda software is in violation of CAN-SPAM

(4) PROHIBITION OF TRANSMISSION OF COMMERCIAL ELECTRONIC MAIL AFTER OBJECTION.—
(A) IN GENERAL.—If a recipient makes a request using a mechanism provided pursuant to paragraph (3) not to receive some or any commercial electronic mail messages from such sender, then it is unlawful—
(i) for the sender to initiate the transmission to the recipient, more than 10 business days after the receipt of such request, of a commercial electronic mail
message that falls within the scope of the request;
(ii) for any person acting on behalf of the sender to initiate the transmission to the recipient, more than 10 business days after the receipt of such request,
of a commercial electronic mail message with actual knowledge, or knowledge fairly implied on the basis of objective circumstances, that such message falls within the scope of the request;
(iii) for any person acting on behalf of the sender to assist in initiating the transmission to the recipient, through the provision or selection of addresses to which the message will be sent, of a commercial electronic mail message with actual knowledge, or knowledge fairly implied on the basis of objective circumstances, that such message would violate clause (i) or (ii); or
(iv) for the sender, or any other person who knows that the recipient has made such a request, to sell, lease, exchange, or otherwise transfer or release the electronic mail address of the recipient (including through any transaction or other transfer involving mailing lists bearing the electronic mail address of
the recipient) for any purpose other than compliance with this Act or other provision of law.
(B) SUBSEQUENT AFFIRMATIVE CONSENT.—A prohibition in subparagraph (A) does not apply if there is affirmative consent by the recipient subsequent to the request under subparagraph (A).

in that they refuse to honor opt-out requests.

I’m sick of trying to be reasonable – it’s time to fight back. I’m obviously not alone, but I don’t see any kind of real effort to shut them down. Any ideas?

Congratulations Nicolas Sarkozy… and France

Turn loose the scum! Let the rioting begin, Nicolas Sarkozy has won the French Presidential race. The optimist in me is calling this a turning point for world politics and the global war against islamic fascism (aka. the global war on terrorism).

I hope the animals do start burning cars again… I doubt the new boss won’t take it on the chin like the old boss.

Bloomberg.com: Worldwide

May 6 (Bloomberg) — Nicolas Sarkozy was elected president of France as Socialist Segolene Royal conceded defeat.

Sarkozy, candidate of the governing Union for a Popular Movement, took between 53 percent and 53.2 percent of the vote against between 46.8 percent and 47 percent for Royal, a Socialist, according to exit polls by Ipsos SA, Ifop, CSA, and TNS-Sofres.

The president-elect, 52, overcame criticism that he was too divisive and too sympathetic to the U.S., persuading voters that he was best-suited to spur economic growth. Sarkozy, interior minister and finance minister for four years under President Jacques Chirac, promised to cut taxes, reduce the number of civil servants, curb immigration and toughen sentencing.

“This very large victory will allow Sarkozy to rally the largest possible union for change,” said Patrick Ollier, a UMP lawmaker and president of the National Assembly. “Nicolas Sarkozy is accountable to the people, not to parties.”

Turnout was about 85 percent, which would be the highest since 1981, according to the exit polls.

Make a note, Americans… the wimpy French can turn out 85% for a presidential election… whens the last time we managed anything near that? (Not in the last 50 years…)

Perverting the children?

Why haven’t these parents been exposed as unfit?

Since when does a 15-month old have a clue about clothes, style, or their sexual identity?

They named their BOY “Jazz”… wtf? Six years of being encouraged to believe he’s a girl… all six years of his life, no less… is damned well enough to brainwash anyone. What next? Someone names their kid “Wolfy”, and trains him to believe he’s the family pet? Pavlov would be proud.

ABC News: ‘I’m a Girl’ — Understanding Transgender Children

On the surface, the Jennings and their four children are a typical American family. But their youngest child, Jazz, is only in kindergarten, and already she is one of the youngest known cases of an early transition from male to female.

“We’ll say things like, ‘You’re special. God made you special.’ Because there aren’t very many little girls out there that have a penis,” said Renee. “Renee and I are in 100 percent agreement as to how we should raise Jazz,” said Scott. “We don’t encourage, we support. And we just keep listening to what she tells us.”

From the moment he could speak, Jazz made it clear he wanted to wear a dress. At only 15 months, he would unsnap his onesies to make it look like a dress. When his parents praised Jazz as a “good boy,” he would correct them, saying he was a good girl.

And ABC news simply feeds their perversion by giving them a forum to talk (or brag) about the sickening mutation they’ve encouraged in their son. Yes, SON. He has a penis. Sure, a human being may grow up and decide they’re unhappy with the body they were born with, but infants learn what they’re taught, they’re not born screwed up like this. To believe they are is to admit defeat as a race.

What’s really going on is that a family is abusing their son for political fame, or worse, just plain fame. It’s disgusting, immoral, and should be criminal. I only hope it’s not too late for this young man to have a chance to grow up as a normal human being — regardless of the lifestyle he chooses as an adult, and in spite of the one he’s been twisted into as a child.

(Credit to Jerry Doyle for mentioning this on his program… I don’t have the stomach to actually watch ABC news)

Don’t live down to our expectations, France.

So the little commie bitch running for president of France decides to show her true colors… warning of violence if she loses the runoff election. Great.

Way to go, Segolene. Who’re your supporters again? The same islamist animals that went on a terror spree across your lovely little country last year? Those misguided “youths” who used a religious holiday as an excuse to burn thousands of cars nightly across gay Paris?

Yeah, the world really needs someone like you in charge of a nuclear-weapon empowered country.

France’s Royal warns of violence if Sarkozy wins – Yahoo! News

On the last day of official campaigning, opinion polls showed Sarkozy enjoyed a commanding lead over Royal, who accused the former interior minister of lying and polarizing France.

“Choosing Nicolas Sarkozy would be a dangerous choice,” Royal told RTL radio.

“It is my responsibility today to alert people to the risk of (his) candidature with regards to the violence and brutality that would be unleashed in the country (if he won),” she said.

Pressed on whether there would be actual violence, Royal said: “I think so, I think so,” referring specifically to France’s volatile suburbs hit by widespread rioting in 2005.

Come on France… you can regain a place of respect in the world, by simply voting against evil little things like Segolene Royal and her merry band of wicked minions.
