Teacher’s comments about McCain, war stir anger

She asks them why they are you pulling for McCain or Obama. One student says she supports Obama because “he is making good changes” like “not having a fight between Iraq, and having soldiers killed.”

“So in other words,” Harris says, “Barack is going to end that war in Iraq.”

One girls says she supports McCain. When asked why, she tells her teacher “I think it’s because of my parents are going for him, too.’’

Harris points out that the girl’s father is in the military, then says to the class that Iraq is a “senseless war.”

“And by the way,” Harris tells the girl, “the person that you’re picking for president said that our troops could stay in Iraq for another hundred years if they need to. So that means that your daddy could stay in the military for another hundred years.”

The girl appears to be embarrassed and doesn’t respond.

Harris said three children in the class had parents in the military.

Hurray for North Carolina.

Then there’s the little ACORN that never fell far from its tree. (Need I mention the tree’s name is Barack Obama?)

It is proven that many would-be voters won’t bother to go to the polls if they believe their vote won’t count. Faced with tens of thousands of “registered” voters for the opposition, many people could easily find themselves in that position this year. So why do even the conservative commentators continue to opine that ACORN’s nefarious activities won’t really matter in the end?

It matters NOW.

ACORN is at least partly responsible for the lower lending standards that got us in the financial rut we’re in today.
ACORN is currently in the act of defrauding the American people of their right to a fair election.

BEIJING - A news story describing a successful launch of China’s long-awaited space mission and including detailed dialogue between astronauts launched on the Internet Thursday, hours before the rocket had even left the ground.

I clearly remember the incentive we had to recover from mistakes and not give up.  It was a simple desire to do well, occasionally assisted with a little bribe (a dollar for an “A” on my report card!), and sometimes chased with a bit of the proverbial “unspared rod” for under performing.  Somewhere along the line some hippy decided that being “best friends” was more important than maintaining a parent-child relationship, and kids lost their natural incentive to simply please their parents by doing well in life.

I can’t even blame this on the administrators - the linked article specifically mentions “The district and teachers union” - which means you card-carrying, union loving, lemming following, milquetoast teachers are equally responsible for this idiocy.

This is one case where the “educators” aren’t overworked, crowded, underpaid, and deserving of our sympathies.  In this case, they all need to be fired and forced to work in the booming fast food industry alongside the skilled laborers they’ve been training.

Obama rejected suggestions that his campaign ad was a low blow.

“If we’re going to ask questions about, you know, who has been promulgating negative ads that are completely unrelated to the issues at hand, I think I win that contest pretty handily,” Obama said.

What Obama apparently meant was that McCain, not Obama, has put out more negative ads.
