Saturday Night Politics

Nancy kept the House in session late on a Saturday in order to twist enough arms to get her nearly 2000 page POS passed.
Harry is planning to do the same to the Senate this weekend.

Does anyone still believe this health care fiasco is above board, proper, legal, and necessary?

BOHICA, America.

This is the kind of shit your hopey-changey vote earned you. I hope you’re proud.

Like a kick to the head

You know, the whole argument over whether or not you want the government to make your life choices for you is one thing.  I volunteered for that sort of life for twenty years, so I may be mildly hypocritical when I say I don’t want that for everyone else.  Remember, though – I had a choice.  But that’s not what brings me here this evening; it’s the most blatant example of an OUTRIGHT LIAR in the service of the socialized medicine crowd I could ever imagine.

Saw what you want about the “amateur” journalism practiced every day on blogs across the internet, here’s a perfect example of why we *need* bloggers:

Roxana Mayer: I’m Not a Doctor But I Play One at Town Hall Meetings

[This post follows up on a previous post in which I questioned the credentials of a woman at a Texas town hall meeting who claimed to be a doctor, but turned out to be anything but. She is a graduate student in social work -- oh, and an Obama delegate. Read on for more.]

Blatant.

Outright.

LIAR.

And of course, Ms. Lee just eats up those phony credentials (watch the video towards the end of the article).  Almost as if this were the perfect person to introduce the plans to implement more preventative care and hire more primary care physicians… almost… almost… perfect!

And they accuse those aligned against these efforts to give the government more control over our lives of being hired guns.

** speaking of Ms. Lee… what an arrogant piece of work she is:  Witness the way she rambles over the interviewers trying to get her to discuss her despicable conduct during a recent town hall meeting:

Report me?

Come on, you know you want to.  Don’t make me turn myself in.

“Facts are stubborn things”

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care.  These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation.  Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

I’ve posted several times about the stinking lies being put out by the White house regarding this health care bullshit they’re trying to sell. All I ask is that you do your part and report my subversive ways!

Hey, if I was in Germany in 1939, I’d pretty sure I’d be arrested by some SS goon squad for voicing my opinion… why should 2009 be any different?

Nancy, GO HOME

The village of San Francisco is missing their idiot.  Can someone please send Nancy home?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday said she’s open to keeping the House in session through the August recess to pass its healthcare overhaul.

“I think 70 percent of the American people would want that,” Pelosi said. “I want a bill.”

That stance contradicts House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), who said Tuesday that he didn’t see any point in staying into August if Democrats haven’t reached consensus on a bill by then.

She just makes up numbers and throws them out, fully expecting the ignorant masses to believe her.  I’ve spent the last 30 minutes trying to find a poll or survey that coughed up 70% as its operative number.  It’s not there.  Here are some interesting numbers I did find, though:

52% choose controlling costs as more important; 42% cite expanding coverage

49 percent want Congress to pass health care legislation this year, about the same number — 48 percent — say they want legislators to do nothing on the issue for now

41% of Americans would advise their representative in Congress to pass a new healthcare reform law by the end of this year; another 30% would say Congress should pass a new law, but not necessarily this year; and the remainder — 24% — don’t think Congress should pass a new healthcare reform law at all.

I did see some numbers suggesting 70% + from a few months back, so maybe Nancy’s head is just shoved so far up Barry’s ass she doesn’t know what day it is.  Have to remember the poll numbers drop as people learn more about what the liberal bastards are actually trying to do.  Health care for all is a noble goal – socialized medicine is a death sentence for the very people the democrats pretend to want to help.

Come to think of it, if the masses are ignorant enough to keep these vicious animals in office, maybe they are ignorant enough to believe Nancy’s lies.

The repeated Lie Part II

I swear I just said this

“If you like what you’re getting, keep it,” Obama said. “Nobody is forcing you to shift.”

Yet the legislation the Obama administration is working on with the Democratic-controlled Congress would make major changes in how Americans pay for health care. The goal is to slow cost increases and bring in nearly 50 million uninsured, and the consequences are bound to affect how employers design benefit plans.

So he lied?

Earlier this week, a preliminary analysis by Congressional Budget Office estimated that 10 million people would have to seek new insurance under a Democratic plan that a Senate committee is working on, because their employers would no longer offer coverage. Those workers and their families would shop for a plan through new insurance purchasing pools called exchanges. About 160 million to 170 million people now get employer coverage.

Why yes, yes he did.  But it’s Okay…

White House officials suggest the president’s rhetoric shouldn’t be taken literally: What Obama really means is that government isn’t about to barge in and force people to change insurance.

We already know his rhetoric is bullshit.  Thanks for confirming it.

The repeated lie

If you say it often enough, and with enough conviction, sooner or later people will believe it – even if they know it’s an outright lie.

“If you like your current insurance, you will be able to keep it”

Forget the fact that a government-sponsored plan, paid for out of tax dollars, will inevitably put the rest out of business.
Forget the fact that a government-sponsored plan, paid for out of tax dollars, will force companies to quit funding health insurance to remain competitive.
Forget the fact that a government-sponsored plan, paid for out of tax dollars, will destroy competition and any chance of recovery once the “experiment” has proven it’s foolhardiness to even the staunchest of supporters.

Hillary care, Obama care, socialized medicine… whatever it’s called, it’s based in lies and doomed to failure – but it’ll only fail after it’s caused the lives and livelihood of millions of Americans.

It really gets under my skin when Chris Dodd and his ilk spew their lies on national television.

Kali : Early 2004* – 12 Jan 2009

kali_soft.jpg

Things I’ll miss about Kali:

  • Followed me everywhere, but never a “lap cat”
  • Always there to greet me at the door when I got home
  • Plastic bags
  • Her favorite treats – three times a day
  • Opening the blinds for her when she sat near a window
  • Playing “Catsketball”™
  • Filling the sink so she could drink “really fresh” water
  • Buying her toys she would ignore – watching her play with the damnedest things
  • The plastic ring from a milk bottle (see previous)
  • Arranging the items in the closet where her litter box was, to crowd her to the center of the box (only way I figured out how to keep her from crapping over the side!)
  • That last one was weird, but seriously… it was almost a game
  • Waking up every morning to find her at the foot of the bed
  • Having her follow me out onto the front porch and sit with me while I smoke
  • Watching her squeeze into too-small boxes, and sleep there like it was a bed made for a queen

I’ll revisit this and add more as they occur to me.  Thanks for indulging me.

* Kali’s exact birthdate is not known, she was taken in by a nice lady as a kitten – we adopted her soon after.

The sad part of this post is below the fold – I decided I wanted pleasant memories of Kali to take precedence on the front page.

Socialized Medicine Saves Lives!

Ok, just running with a thought here…

Fox News is reporting the London car bombs may have failed to detonate because of faulty syringes.
The perpetrators of these terrorism attempts were doctors in the United Kingdom.
The UK has a socialized medical system.
Socialized medicine suffers from cost cutbacks.
Cost cutbacks would mean the purchase of lower quality supplies.
Lower quality supplies, like… syringes?

Yes, Hillary, there’s a way to promote your universal health plan!
