2010 State of the Union

I mentioned this to people at work the other day, but haven’t seen another comment/post/blog about it, so I guess I’d better before I forget.

The president has an annoying habit of thumping his hands on the podium when he speaks. I don’t know if he’s always had it and I never noticed, or if having to say fairly nice things about the country brought it out of him… but recall the SOTU speech, and think of the pattern of hands… small gesture, fold, thump. gesture broadly, fold, thump. point, fold, thump. rinse. repeat.

Watch for yourself. I literally could not hear what he was saying for the last fifteen minutes or so. I think it was on purpose.

I hope his hands are sore from it now.

Disconnect

Obama’s Frightening Insensitivity Following Shooting

This was something I was hoping would be commented on. Kind of weird to read it on an NBC website. From Chicago.

But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president making introductory remarks. At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a “shout-out” to “Dr. Joe Medicine Crow — that Congressional Medal of Honor winner.” Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?

Let’s not add in that “Dr. Joe Medicine Crow” was awarded the Medal of Freedom, not the Medal of Honor. There’s a difference. It’s big.

The executive Dear in the Headlights. Fantastic.

Obama appointee falls on his sword

Now if the President would just quit appointing his socialist, racist, radical buddies to these positions of power, we could get on to the business of the nation.

White House environmental adviser Van Jones resigned Saturday after weeks of controversy stemming from his past activism.

“On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me,” Jones, special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, said in a statement announcing his resignation just after midnight Saturday. “They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide.”

I love that quote… “they are using lies”.  Well, if his own words and actions are lies, then yes.

Like a kick to the head

You know, the whole argument over whether or not you want the government to make your life choices for you is one thing.  I volunteered for that sort of life for twenty years, so I may be mildly hypocritical when I say I don’t want that for everyone else.  Remember, though – I had a choice.  But that’s not what brings me here this evening; it’s the most blatant example of an OUTRIGHT LIAR in the service of the socialized medicine crowd I could ever imagine.

Saw what you want about the “amateur” journalism practiced every day on blogs across the internet, here’s a perfect example of why we *need* bloggers:

Roxana Mayer: I’m Not a Doctor But I Play One at Town Hall Meetings

[This post follows up on a previous post in which I questioned the credentials of a woman at a Texas town hall meeting who claimed to be a doctor, but turned out to be anything but. She is a graduate student in social work -- oh, and an Obama delegate. Read on for more.]

Blatant.

Outright.

LIAR.

And of course, Ms. Lee just eats up those phony credentials (watch the video towards the end of the article).  Almost as if this were the perfect person to introduce the plans to implement more preventative care and hire more primary care physicians… almost… almost… perfect!

And they accuse those aligned against these efforts to give the government more control over our lives of being hired guns.

** speaking of Ms. Lee… what an arrogant piece of work she is:  Witness the way she rambles over the interviewers trying to get her to discuss her despicable conduct during a recent town hall meeting:

I’d be trying to move past it, too

If I managed to go from being “respected Harvard professor” to lunatic race-card playing punchline, I’d be trying to put it all behind me, too.

BOSTON (AP) – Black Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. says he’s ready to move on from his arrest by a white police officer, hoping to use the encounter to improve fairness in the criminal justice system and saying “in the end, this is not about me at all.”

Not about him.  Not about Obama.  Not about either of the characters that made themselves out to be horses’ asses during and after this little incident.  Too bad there’s a cop with a damaged reputation out there, and who knows how many law enforcement officers now questioning what bullshit will be thrown there way next time they try to do their job.

Professional speakers who can’t keep their feet out of their mouths.  Professional victims, despite their obvious successes.  Only in America!

Nancy, GO HOME

The village of San Francisco is missing their idiot.  Can someone please send Nancy home?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday said she’s open to keeping the House in session through the August recess to pass its healthcare overhaul.

“I think 70 percent of the American people would want that,” Pelosi said. “I want a bill.”

That stance contradicts House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), who said Tuesday that he didn’t see any point in staying into August if Democrats haven’t reached consensus on a bill by then.

She just makes up numbers and throws them out, fully expecting the ignorant masses to believe her.  I’ve spent the last 30 minutes trying to find a poll or survey that coughed up 70% as its operative number.  It’s not there.  Here are some interesting numbers I did find, though:

52% choose controlling costs as more important; 42% cite expanding coverage

49 percent want Congress to pass health care legislation this year, about the same number — 48 percent — say they want legislators to do nothing on the issue for now

41% of Americans would advise their representative in Congress to pass a new healthcare reform law by the end of this year; another 30% would say Congress should pass a new law, but not necessarily this year; and the remainder — 24% — don’t think Congress should pass a new healthcare reform law at all.

I did see some numbers suggesting 70% + from a few months back, so maybe Nancy’s head is just shoved so far up Barry’s ass she doesn’t know what day it is.  Have to remember the poll numbers drop as people learn more about what the liberal bastards are actually trying to do.  Health care for all is a noble goal – socialized medicine is a death sentence for the very people the democrats pretend to want to help.

Come to think of it, if the masses are ignorant enough to keep these vicious animals in office, maybe they are ignorant enough to believe Nancy’s lies.

Yes, liberals really are this stupidly prejudiced.  So why do so many “people of color” vote for them?  Beats me.

The repeated Lie Part II

I swear I just said this

“If you like what you’re getting, keep it,” Obama said. “Nobody is forcing you to shift.”

Yet the legislation the Obama administration is working on with the Democratic-controlled Congress would make major changes in how Americans pay for health care. The goal is to slow cost increases and bring in nearly 50 million uninsured, and the consequences are bound to affect how employers design benefit plans.

So he lied?

Earlier this week, a preliminary analysis by Congressional Budget Office estimated that 10 million people would have to seek new insurance under a Democratic plan that a Senate committee is working on, because their employers would no longer offer coverage. Those workers and their families would shop for a plan through new insurance purchasing pools called exchanges. About 160 million to 170 million people now get employer coverage.

Why yes, yes he did.  But it’s Okay…

White House officials suggest the president’s rhetoric shouldn’t be taken literally: What Obama really means is that government isn’t about to barge in and force people to change insurance.

We already know his rhetoric is bullshit.  Thanks for confirming it.

The repeated lie

If you say it often enough, and with enough conviction, sooner or later people will believe it – even if they know it’s an outright lie.

“If you like your current insurance, you will be able to keep it”

Forget the fact that a government-sponsored plan, paid for out of tax dollars, will inevitably put the rest out of business.
Forget the fact that a government-sponsored plan, paid for out of tax dollars, will force companies to quit funding health insurance to remain competitive.
Forget the fact that a government-sponsored plan, paid for out of tax dollars, will destroy competition and any chance of recovery once the “experiment” has proven it’s foolhardiness to even the staunchest of supporters.

Hillary care, Obama care, socialized medicine… whatever it’s called, it’s based in lies and doomed to failure – but it’ll only fail after it’s caused the lives and livelihood of millions of Americans.

It really gets under my skin when Chris Dodd and his ilk spew their lies on national television.

Did we forget to mention his islamic heritage (and his middle name)?

Obama isn’t a muslim. We’ve had that bit of information driven home enough that everyone believes it now. But maybe some of that early training stuck. Respect for the ruler of the city that holds the meteorite they all pray to seems to be a lesson he hasn’t forgotten.

BRITAIN G20 PALACE

The President of the United States, bowing down to the saudi king. That’s the king of saudi arabia; that lovely country where they have the happy fun-loving religion police running around beating women for talking to men, driving, or BEING kidnapped and raped. They seem rather fond of disciplining old women, too.

The man is a disgrace. When I saw the picture, I assumed he had tripped or something… surely it could not have been what it appeared.

The video erases all doubt.
