Humanity (and life in general) adapts. Being so egotistic as to believe we can control the environment is nonsensical. Could we screw it up so badly as to make it unlivable? Probably. Should we be careful how we use the resources available to us? Definitely. Is Al Gore a gasbag taking advantage of you and every other gullible human being in existence? You betcha.
