Take note of how many times you hear “happy holiday”, or “happy 4th of July” today. The latter doesn’t really bother me – it’s been the ‘accepted mistake’ for quite awhile – but the former is sheer politically correct bullshit.
See if you can confuse the masses by using “Happy Independence Day”. I know I’ve gotten some strange looks by saying just that. Also few knowing smiles, as if that’s what the person would have said were it not for “company policy”.
