Website Layout Updates

Welcome to the new L’ano Itar.com / Jonathan Murray.com!

The major adjustments are now complete (whew), and everything appears to be relatively in the place it belongs. I’ve adopted a brighter and more “American” theme, and would like to point out a few things that I think are distinctive elements:

1 – http://jonathanmurray.com/greymatter/archives/00000731.htm I recently questioned the use of the American Flag graphic on websites, and came to the conclusion that by using it in the background, where it takes on the appearance of a seperate element flying free behind the text (think of looking through a window), I am not doing any disrespect to the flag, nor am I in conflict with the http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/flagetiq.html#5 Flag Code. I happen to really like the way the background appears!

2 – The primary colors used are red, white, and blue. I am in the process of converting all the red and blue elements to the HTML colorcodes for “Old Glory Red” (#bf0a30), and “Old Glory Blue” (#002868), which are the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Flag_of_the_United_States#Color_specifications official colors of the American Flag. They also happen to compliment each other very nicely, and provide excellent visability on a white background.

3 – Several graphic elements will need to be redrawn / recolored to fit the above. Please don’t point these things out to me, I already know! :hehe: I’m also learning to use the open-source / free http://www.gimp.org/ “GIMP” graphics editor, so I tend to get distracted learning new things when I’m in there working. (ohhh, shiny))

So, tell me what you think!

Toad, I think your misguided attempt at humor needs to find a new home. It’s not welcome here – you have no first amendment protections on a personal website. – Jonathan
