Oh, and for those who sign up for these things: Yes, they do pay out (usually). Yes, you can get free stuff in exchange for your personal information / permission to sell that info / invitation to spam you forever. It’s a free world, do as you please – I just hope this crap doesn’t bite you in the ass down the road (but I’m confident it will be a decision you eventually regret).
I, for one, value my personal information a bit higher than that.
