Sci-Fi’s Friday Night Lineup

These bastiches just won’t relinquish their grip on me on Friday nights… yes, I admit it, I’m still and even more addicted to the lineup. One of the coolest things to note – many actors from other Sci-Fi shows are now featured in Stargate: SG-1, and Stargate: Atlantis (not to mention the “big name” stars recently joining the casts).

The new season features, on Stargate: SG-1
From Farscape: Ben Browder (Lt.Col. Cameron Mitchell) and Claudia Black (Vala)
From Andromeda: Lexa Doig (Dr. Carolyn Lam)
Beau Bridges (Gen. Hank Landry)
Louis Gosset Jr. (Gerak)

and on Stargate: Atlantis
From The X-Files: Mitch Pileggi (Col. Steven Caldwell)

So far, they all seem to be fitting in very well with the classic castmembers. It does seem that we’re seeing a lot less of Richard Dean Anderson (Gen. Jonathan “Jack” O’Neill [aka Angus MacGyver!]), but hopefully he’ll have more than a cameo role in episodes to come.

Battlestar Galactica also remains a “must see”, and the new show Firefly seems interesting, but I haven’t managed to get into the storyline much yet.

So when I don’t write much on Fridays… now you know why! 😀

  1. You’re not the only one. I’ve been posting about SG1 and Atlantis since the day I started blogging.

I can’t believe you guys have already seen Season 9 episodes of SG1: we have to wait till the fall.

As for the new BSG, my opinion of it is that if they hadn’t called it BSG and hadn’t used the character names and the like, it would’ve been a pretty good show. Of course, then it would’ve been rather similar to Space: Above and Beyond, and not that original as they claimed in the beginning. 😀
